Program Overview
Spirit Elementary's Dual Language Immersion Program provides students with the opportunity to become proficient in both English and Spanish while mastering Florida's academic standards.
Students participate in daily instruction in both languages, developing literacy, communication, and academic skills through meaningful and engaging learning experiences.
Our goal is for students to graduate from the program as bilingual, biliterate, and culturally aware learners prepared for future success in an increasingly interconnected world.

Student Expectations
- Participate actively in English and Spanish instruction.
- Use the designated language of instruction throughout the day.
- Complete assignments in the language assigned by the teacher.
- Demonstrate respect for both languages and cultures.
- Read regularly in both English and Spanish.
- Maintain consistent attendance.
Family Expectations
- Support regular school attendance.
- Encourage reading at home in English and/or Spanish.
- Partner with teachers to support student success.
- Encourage positive attitudes toward bilingualism and multicultural learning.
- Commit to participation in the program through elementary school whenever possible.
